I get it – you’re busy running around like a headless chook, scoffing lunch down at your desk, or in between piles of laundry and processing a multitude of daily interactions. Your to do list grows faster than it shrinks and you feel like you’re treading water desperately trying hard to keep your head above the surface, so I can understand why your personal wellbeing might be suffering. Putting everyone else’s needs before your own might seem like the self-less and loving thing to do, but flight attendants don’t tell you to put your mask on first for no reason… you are literally no help to anyone else if you suffocate to death!

Your wellbeing should not be a chore and something you add to your list with the hope it will get done, daily practise needs to become a routine part of your day, just like brushing your teeth and making your bed. I know starting a new routine is hard – especially something that may seem foreign to you – like taking care of yourself!

Hey, I am Aimee (and that is my boy, Oscar). I was once a teacher who faced burn out REGULARLY – I mean at least once a term – and it was incredibly exhausting, every time the holidays would arrive, I would melt into a ball and was almost always guaranteed an illness of some kind.

Several years ago, I had absolutely no idea how to take care of myself and if I am honest, I thought it was selfish of me to think I could take time out for myself. I pushed my needs so far down and happily played the martyr card. I wore stress like a big ol’ badge of honour and almost paraded my exhaustion and overwhelm as if it was something to be proud of. I’ve spent the last four years learning about myself by unpacking my my belief systems, behaviours and my burnout cycle and I have figure how what true self-care is (I hate to break it to you, it’s a bit more than a bubble bath and a face mask once a week!).

Teaching others what I have learned on my journey has become something that really gets my fires burning, and I’d love nothing more than to help you achieve that balance I know you are so desperately craving!

Week One: Getting Started

We learn about what self care is, and the difference between self-care and personal care.

You will take a quick quiz to determine whether you are languishing or thriving & learn how reflective journaling can help you dislodge all the old thoughts and beliefs in your head and begin to clear away the cobwebs

Week Two: Boundaries

This week we unpack what boundaries are and how you can find yours. You will spend the week setting boundaries for yourself and reflect on the impact setting boundaries had on your week, with a particular focus on how you feel.

Week Three: Moods and Behaviours

This week we identify the difference between moods and emotions. You will lean how to move through emotions and identify the triggers in your life that illicit certain moods, emotions and behaviours.

Once you have identified the triggers, you can work to make positive changes!

Week Four: Forgiveness

An incredibly important aspect of self-care… who knew?

This week we will find out how holding on to resentment and grudges and affect your day to day life. You will participate in some activities to help you move through the feelings and emotions so you can forgive those who have wronged you, or forgive yourself.

This is super powerful!

Week Five: Detox and Declutter

It’s time to clean out the wardrobe and maybe even your friend’s list on Instagram!

This week we will learn why it is important we keep our environment clear of people who are not good for us, and things like the foods that are wreaking havoc with our bodies and all that stuff cluttering the house.

Week Six: Gratitude

Does this really need an introduction?

Gratitude is a powerful way to bring you more joy! When we keep our eyes peeled for all the incredible things happening, we focus less on all negative things happening around us – it also helps us call in more of the good stuff!

Week Seven: Mindset & Beliefs

The MOST important aspect of your self-care journey!

Learning to master my mindset and uncovering my belief systems has been the most powerful aspect of my self-care journey!

Week Seven: Final Reflections & Intentions

Take a moment to celebrate all you have achieved over the last 7 weeks – share what you have learned and set intentions for the coming weeks.
